Registration, Pricing and Hours

Photographers planning to photograph on the grounds for professional use are required to make an appointment with the special events coordinator at least one week in advance of the proposed session. Photographers must check in at the Belmont Visitor Center before beginning their session. Photographers who do not make an appointment or check in upon arrival will be denied access to the property.

Photography sessions must be held during business hours and are subject to being monitored by a staff member. A $25 fee will be charged for photography sessions. Photographers wishing to use the facilities after hours may arrange to do so for a $50 fee. This fee must be paid in advance in the Visitor Center. The use of the facilities without permission or after hours will incur an additional fee.

Use of the Grounds and Buildings

Professional photography can be conducted only in designated areas. No photography or videotaping is allowed inside the house or studio. Photographers and their subjects are restricted to stairways, lawn and walkways. Standing or walking through flower beds and shrubbery is not permitted. Climbing, sitting, or standing on walls and fences is prohibited. The museum assumes no liability associated with any photography session of any kind.

Use of props

During photography sessions, photographers may not move benches, flower pots, or any other lawn ornaments. Private props may be used with prior permission. Leashed pets will be allowed access with prior approval.

Wedding Day Photography

Brides and other wedding party members should arrive no earlier than one hour before the ceremony for photography sessions. Post ceremony photography should last no longer than 30 minutes after the event. Photographers should be aware of these restrictions and plan accordingly.
