2009 Alumni College
Classes Without Quizzes
Alumni College 2009 was an exciting event that brought together UMW alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and community members to learn about and discuss timely topics in a friendly and fun setting. The first day of Alumni College 2009 featured an opening lunch with educator, artist, and poet Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda '69.
Afternoon class sessions at the Fredericksburg Campus covered topics including art, digital history, autism, and poetry; and also featured one walking tour about Civil War history and another covering historic sites of interest at Mary Washington. The day's activities concluded with an evening reception at the Ridderhof Martin Gallery.
The second day began at the Stafford Campus with breakfast and several optional class sessions including understanding digital mapping, online social networking, and understanding the brain, aging, and memory. During the lunch program, UMW Dean Emeritus Phil Hall talked about the importance of lifelong learning.
These photos represent a few of the activities throughout the two-day event.
