Fund for Mary Washington

The Fund for Mary Washington represents the generous gifts received each year from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and members of the senior class. Gifts to the Fund help support vital UMW programs to maintain the high margin of excellence and quality liberal arts educational programs for which Mary Washington is recognized.

Since the Commonwealth of Virginia provides less than 27 percent of the University operating budget, UMW is especially grateful for all unrestricted gifts. Each year, these unrestricted funds are used to support areas of need across the campus.

When you make a gift to the Fund for Mary Washington, you demonstrate your dedication and commitment to higher education and to the University of Mary Washington. Your participation ultimately plays a key role in determining UMW's future rankings in national and regional publications.

Gifts of all sizes are important to the University, and names of all donors are published in the President's Message and Annual Report of Gifts. As a way to honor donors who make very generous gifts, names are also listed according to special Gift Clubs. Employer matching gift programs help double and sometimes triple a gift, and are used to determine gift club listings.
