Welcome Parents
Parents of Mary Washington students are involved and active in their children's education. Parents provide vital support to the University through their time, talents and financial resources.
PARENT SUPPORT
Parent gifts are used to support the overall
academic mission of the University and to ensure the quality educational
experiences of all Mary Washington students. These gifts to the Fund for Mary Washington support special
projects and programs including Career Services, transportation vans,
dorm lock and key systems, and faculty recruitment and retention programs. Parents may also choose to establish a scholarship at UMW to honor their sons or daughters or set up a planned gift to make a greater impact as part of an overall estate plan. Your gifts
to support Mary Washington students and programs is a great way to showcase
your loyalty and dedication as an UMW parent.
PARENTS COUNCIL
Many parents also offer their support by volunteering on the UMW Parents Council, an advisory committee dedicated to helping Mary Washington meet the educational and developmental needs of students. This provides parents the opportunity to be involved in their child's education and to seek information and support from a variety of sources.
For more information about giving or volunteering for the Parents Council, please contact the Office of University Advancement at (540) 654-1024.
