Phonathon - Who's on the other end?

When Mary Washington calls this fall, be sure to answer your phone and chat with an eagle.

A real-life student eagle, that is.  All callers are currently enrolled undergraduate students calling from the Phonathon Center located in Hamlet House.  They are happy to update your contact information, talk about the latest University news, and take your annual Phonathon pledge.

Our callers know first-hand how important private contributions are to advancing UMW's mission of higher education.

Many of our student callers are scholarship recipients, some benefit from financial aid, and they care about the future of this University.  All Phonathon gifts are important -- especially yours!

Here's what some of our CURRENT and PAST callers say about giving through
the University of Mary Washington phonathon:

Dahli Ali ’10

“I think UMW alumni, parents and friends should give to Mary Washington because it is an institution that not only upholds so many of its long standing traditions that we all know and love, but is also building new ones for generations to come. From Honor Convocation to Grad Ball Mary Washington holds the things we hold most sacred to us, sacred to itself.”

Sarah Beth Darr ’09

“I was a Phonathon caller for several semesters.  Now that I'm an alum, I believe it's important to give back to the school and the students. The Fund for Mary Washington is what keeps the school going!  My major was Linguistics, and now I am a grad student online at Longwood University working toward Speech Pathology. “

Fall Phonathon runs from September 21 through November 22, 2009.
