In-band bonuses (up to 10%) may be awarded for the application of newly acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities resulting from licensure, certification, or a degree program.
The following conditions must exist:
- Source pre-approved by university management
- A copy of license, certification, or transcript is included with request
- Newly acquired KSAs are being applied in performance of duties
- Newly acquired KSAs have been applied for a minimum of 6 months
Examples of Eligible and Non-Eligible Education
Eligible
- Completion of degree programs
- Professional certification programs
- Comprehensive Supervisory program or institute
- Technical certifications
Not Eligible
- Courses used for remediation purposes
- Individual classes
- Knowledge learned in the course of a job
- Training on new tools to perform the same function
If application of KSAs results in a change to higher level duties, a base salary adjustment may be needed. See Change in Duties section.
