Flexible Reimbursement Accounts (FRA)

Open enrollment is also the chance every year to enroll in an FRA.  If you want to participate in an FRA for July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009, you must enroll during this open enrollment period.  Even if you are participating in an FRA currently, it will not continue into the next year.  You must enroll every year during the open enrollment period, if you wish to participate in an FRA.

Virginia State Employee Assistance Fund

2008 marks the launch of the Virginia State Employee Assistance Fund. This fund was created for State employees who are in financial need as a result of an emergency, recent crisis, or death of a loved one. Gifts may be awarded for the exact amount requested, not to exceed the $500 limit. Employees are not obligated to repay funds.

The Virginia State Employee Assistance Fund is a recognized charity of the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC). Funds are annually donated by employees across the state who wish to support their fellow coworkers. Funds designated to the CVC Code # 3040 make grants possible for employees in need.

For further information regarding the Virginia State Employee Assistance Fund, please visit the CVC website linked here.
