INCOMING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Arrival Information

The University of Mary Washington is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, 50 miles south of Washington D.C..  Visitors may use Ronald Reagan National Airport or Washington-Dulles International Airport. Each airport is roughly 60 miles north of Fredericksburg.  A shuttle service from both airports to the University of Mary Washington is available for $110 dollars.  Please contact the Office of International Academic Services to request a reservation. 

Housing Information

All incoming exchange students must complete and submit a Housing & Dining contract to Residence Life. The contract will be e-mailed to you. The contract can also be found at http://www.umw.edu/cas/residencelife/ under "online forms."

  • Room assignments are made on a space-available basis.
  • For information about room amenities, please view the Residence Life website, Information for New & Prospective Students, Frequently Asked Questions.
  • You have the option of having us purchase bed linens prior to your arrival for $30 dollars. We highly recommend this option, as no bed linens are provided for you. We will take you shopping the day after your arrival to purchase additional items you may need for your room.
