CollectionS

The CGPS Stafford Library specializes in books, periodicals, and electronic resources in the fields of business and education. The Library owns selected ERIC documents on microfiche from 1966-1990 and a complete set from 1991-2003. A Children's Literature Collection of fiction and nonfiction works routinely displays winners of the Newbery, Caldecott, and Coretta Scott King Awards. A Career Collection is available for those seeking information on resume writing, job interviews, and career advancement.

EDCI 589 and 590 Individual Research Projects

Print copies of EDCI 589 and 590 Individual Research Projects are archived and available at the Circulation Desk for use within the CGPS Stafford Library. Projects are arranged by call number and are searchable by Title, Author and/or Subject in the UMW Libraries' Catalog (perform a Keyword Search and select "Stafford Arch" from the Location Filter menu).

Students submitting a print copy of their project for inclusion in the physical archives must have their project bound. The binding should be a permanent Velo binding, available at most quick-print stores, such as Kinkos. The front cover should be made of clear plastic so that the title page shows through as the cover page. The back cover should be made of a sturdy black vinyl or paper board.

UMW Libraries is planning to digitize and make available EDCI 589 and 590 Projects via Archives @ UMW, the University of Mary Washington’s Digital Library Repository. To submit your approved 589 or 590 project to Archives @ UMW, please see our FAQ or visit the Submission site at http://archivesatumw.umwblogs.org/.

CGPS Library Orientation Videos

The CGPS Library has created four short videos aimed at introducing library resources and services to new students.

Each video is available in an SWF (Flash) format with audio and is intended to be viewed within an internet browser window. When you click on any of the above links, the video should run in a new window or tab in your browser (if you have pop-ups blocked on your computer, the videos may not open or play). You will need Macromedia/Adobe Flash Player 7.0 or higher installed on your computer to view these videos. To download Flash Player, please see the Adobe Flash Player Download Center. Make sure that you have sound or speakers enabled and the volume turned up so that you can hear the audio. If you are having trouble viewing these videos, please contact the UMW Help Desk at 540-654-2255.
