The University of Mary Washington has been ranked among the nation’s top colleges by Money Magazine’s 2016 list of top colleges.
UMW is ranked ninth among Virginia public schools and 252nd overall among the 705 four-year colleges and universities named to the list out of more than 1,500 four-year schools in the country.
Money Magazine looks at educational quality, affordability and alumni success to determine the rankings for its list. It also considers comparative value by looking at student success against the expected success of students with similar economic and academic backgrounds, and the offering of majors.
Earlier this month, Fiske Guide to Colleges recognized UMW as a “best buy,” and Forbes Magazine ranked the University in its 2016 list of “America’s Top Colleges.”
