The University of Mary Washington marked a milestone occasion Friday, April 21, with the inauguration of its 10th president, Troy D. Paino. A crowd of nearly 1,000 students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members packed George Washington Hall’s Dodd Auditorium for the momentous event.
Kimberly C. Young has been named executive director of Continuing and Professional Studies at the University of Mary Washington. In this position,Young will be responsible for expanding the University’s credit and non-credit programs for adults, including new certificate and other professional development opportunities. She will start work at UMW on July 25.
A week of activities will pave the way for the inauguration of the University of Mary Washington’s 10th president, Troy D. Paino, on Friday, April 21. President Paino will be installed at 4:15 p.m. in Dodd Auditorium of George Washington Hall on the Fredericksburg campus.
Nina Mikhalevsky has been named provost at the University of Mary Washington, effective July 1, 2017. She has worked at the University since 2006 and currently is serving as acting provost.
Undergraduates at the University of Mary Washington soon will have an accelerated path to law school, thanks to a new partnership with George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School in Arlington.
