The Office of News and Public Information, which is part of the University Relations and Communications division, oversees media relations, sports information, the UMW Web site, and electronic communications.

Marty Morrison Marty has spent more than three decades in journalism. She began working at the Petersburg Progress-Index, but spent the majority of her career at The Free Lance-Star where she held numerous positions, including education reporter, feature writer, and food editor. Before coming to Mary Washington in August 2007, she worked as a freelance writer and a public information officer at Germanna Community College. A native of North Carolina, Marty received her bachelor's degree in English from East Carolina University. |

Christine Neuberger Chris joined UMW in August 2001. She writes CGPS press releases, feature articles and CGPS web site content, plus she handles media requests and other related activities. She previously worked as a newspaper and magazine writer, including 13 years as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She currently serves as the Membership Secretary of the Fredericksburg Public Relations Society. A native of Washington, D.C., Chris graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in English. |

Clint Often Clint is in his 12th year as UMW’s Sports Information Director. In addition to his duties providing the media with information about each of the 23 Eagle varsity teams, Clint is responsible for maintaining the athletics web site and compiling statistics and records for all teams. He serves as chair for the UMW Athletic Hall of Fame and is on the UMW Centennial Committee. His media guides have been named as best in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America. A 1994 graduate of Lock Haven University, Clint played collegiate baseball and soccer. He earned his master’s degree from Frostburg State University in 1996. Prior to coming to Mary Washington, he worked in the front office with the Cleveland Indians organization. |

Seth Casana Seth Casana joined the Office of University Relations in January 2007. He began working for UMW in July 2006 as a web developer in the Department of Information Technologies. As an undergraduate at James Madison University, he studied music (with a concentration in tuba), 3-D animation, and philosophy. He later earned a master's degree in philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University. Although born in Boston, Seth has lived in Virginia for the majority of his life, growing up in Springfield, studying in Harrisonburg, and currently residing in downtown Fredericksburg. He is involved in many creative projects, including his role as lead singer in a regionally successful funk band. |
