UMW and Germanna Community College Partner on Two New Programs

Germanna Community College students will be able to take classes at the University of Mary Washington as part of new co-enrollment and direct transfer agreements between the two institutions. Richard V. Hurley, president of UMW, and David A. Sam, president of the Germanna Community College System, formally signed the agreements in a ceremony on Wednesday, July 25. “We are delighted to partner with Germanna to make these programs available to qualified community college students,” said President Hurley. The co-enrollment agreement, the first of its kind that UMW has developed with a community college partner, allows Germanna students to take a limited number of courses at UMW while remaining enrolled at the community college. “This historic and innovative agreement takes the ongoing partnership between the University of Mary Washington and Germanna Community College to a new level,” said GCC President Sam. “Since President Hurley began his tenure, he and I have had regular … [Read more...]
