
Rep. Rob Wittman of Virginia’s 1st Congressional District spoke at UMW’s Dahlgren campus as part of the National Security Lecture Series. Wittman presented his lecture, “Sequestration and the Federal Budget – Implications for the Department of Defense and National Security,” on Wednesday, Oct. 10. First elected in 2007, Wittman is running for reelection this November against Democrat Adam Cook. Wittman will return to UMW on Monday, Oct. 29 for a debate at George Washington Hall’s Dodd Auditorium. The National Security Lecture Series, first held in April 2012, is a collaborative effort that includes UMW’s Department of Political Science and International Affairs, the Joint Warfare Analysis Center and the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Council.
