Campus Girl Scouts

The Mary Washington Campus Scouts is a community service-based group that works with Girl Scouts in the area doing various activities as well as volunteering at a nursing home and a homeless shelter, and cleaning up the river, among others. We are a fun-loving and spirited group. No previous Girl Scout experience required!

Canterbury Club

Canterbury Club is an Episcopal / Anglican Campus Ministry. The purpose is to foster and enhance the spiritual, intellectual, and social lives of the students. Classic Film Club

The purpose of the Classic Film Club is to entertain and educate the students of UMW by screening and discussing films made in the first half of the 20th century. The aim is to broaden the perspectives of UMW students by exposing them to older films that might otherwise be passed by, and cultivating appreciation of cinema as a lasting art form and cultural reflection.

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship

Intervarsity is a non-denominational Christian club which meets weekly and has many small groups that get into the Bible. Intervarsity also does many service projects.

Invisible Children

This club aids in bringing awareness about child soldiering in Uganda to the UMW campus. It also would raise money through fundraisers to help sponsor a school in Uganda through the Schools for Schools program. The club gets its name from a documentary which has spawned a larger organization with which we would be involved with (for more information on the larger organization: www.invisiblechildren.com).

Islamic Student Association

Our purpose is to promote Islamic awareness throughout the campus and open the student body to the diverse Muslims around the world.

Japanese Animated and Dramatic Entertainment (J.A.D.E.)

The purpose of J.A.D.E. is to showcase the cultural variety of Japanese animated entertainment, as well as to provide a forum where Japanese history, language, art, myths, games, and music can be discussed and enjoyed.

Jewish Student Association (JSA)

The JSA is an educational club celebrating cultural diversity, but concentrates on the Jewish culture. JSA spreads the awareness of the Jewish culture to the UMW community through various educational events, and by working with other organizations the JSA can present information with other different cultural groups.

Judicial Review Board (JRB)

The Judicial Review Board is a student-run organization that investigates violations of community standards on campus, and if necessary, provides educational sanctions to the student found responsible of the violation. The purpose of the JRB is to offer students the opportunity to present their case to an unbiased board of peers when involved in violations of University policy.

Model United Nation's Club

Model UN is an organization of students with an interest in politics, history, diplomacy, and international issues. We attend conferences with students from across the country and debate issues ranging from nuclear disarmament and international security, to world health, natural disaster relief, and human rights. You do not have to be a Political Science or International Affairs major to join. We have members from many other disciplines - from business, to art, to biology. Everyone is welcome!

Students for Life is a non-politically or religiously affiliated pro-life group committed to educating students about the pro-life cause and providing opportunities for activism.
