Emergency Phone System

"Blue Light" Phone System

Emergency telephones are provided in all student parking lots, on the interior campus walkways, outside the vehicle compound gates of Facilities Services (physical plant), on the Battleground fitness trail, and in all academic buildings on the campus. The exterior emergency telephones are on posts with blue lights, which are illuminated during the nighttime hours.

To operate most of the emergency telephone stations lift the receiver or depress the activation button until you hear a series of audible clicks. The automatic dialer is forwarding your call to the Emergency Communication Office located in Brent Hall. When your call is answered, please indicate your location and nature of the emergency or assistance needed.

777 Emergency Phone System

From regular telephones on campus, for emergency situations you may dial "777." This system is similar to "911" in other jurisdictions and dials directly into the University Emergency Communication Office for on campus Fire/Rescue/Police emergencies. If you experience an emergency, please remain on the phone (if safety permits) with the Emergency Communication Operator to receive and exchange additional pertinent information.
