Student Escort Service

The Student Escort Service provides transportation for any University of Mary Washington student or staff member from one point on campus to another. Each employee of the escort service receives training on the operation of a state vehicle, and more detailed training in the use of the handicapped-accessible escort van.

While on-duty, each escort employee has direct radio contact with a (ECO) Emergency Communications Operator, ensuring the safety of the driver, as well as the student. The student escort service operates nightly from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am. After 1:00 am and on Saturday and Sunday, escorts are provided by Police Officers and from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm week days escorts is provided by the Community Service Officer.

To request an escort, contact the University Police Department at 540-654-1025, or use one of the emergency Blue Light 777 phones on campus.
