ENFORCEMENT

University Police Department enforce all University regulations, state laws, and certain City of Fredericksburg ordinances. All regulations and ordinances are enforced in a consistent manner without preference. A parking ticket s shall not be discussed with the issuing officer except for clarification of the charge. Issuing officers have no authority to void a ticket once issued.

PENALTIES

Payment for University parking tickets may be made in person or mailed (DO NOT MAIL FINE PAYMENTS TO THE UNIVERSITY POLICE DEPARTMENT) to the Cashier's Office, Room 111 George Washington Hall, 1301 College Ave., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

$15.00 Fine:

  • Not parked within painted lines or designated space.
  • Parked beyond posted time limit.
  • Parked on grass, curb, or illegally in road way.
  • Vehicle parked facing wrong direction .
  • Other violations, as specified on ticket .

$25.00 Fine:

  • Not parked in assigned decal permit area.
  • Parking along yellow painted curbs (fire lanes).
  • Student in faculty/staff parking space.
  • Faculty/staff in student parking space.
  • Failure to properly display decal.
  • Parked in "Service Vehicles" space.
  • Parked in "Reserved" parking space.

  $200.00 Fine:

•  Parked in or blocking access to a handicap space .
•  Failure to register vehicle
