On-Campus Parking

University of Mary Washington does not guarantee parking spaces will always be available.

A sign at the entrance of each lot will designate each parking area. The parking lot number will be displayed on a background color which corresponds with the decal color of those vehicles permitted to use the lot. For example, Parking Lot Number 2 will have a sign with the number 2 on a blue background (faculty/staff parking). Some lots have multiple uses. Be aware of restriction signs inside the lots.

All parking areas for residential students are restricted by decal color 24 hours every day, year round. The University does not guarantee parking spaces will always be available.

Students may not park in faculty/staff lots with the exception of certain spaces in Parking Lot Number 5 at the Simpson Library, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Monday-Thursday and 5:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday, students may park in the spaces that are not designated faculty/staff 24/7.

Residential students wanting to leave their vehicles on campus during semester breaks are encouraged to park vehicles in Lot Number 30

COMMUTER STUDENTS DECALS (RED TOP WITH WHITE REFLECTIVE BOTTOM W/ BLACK NUMBERS)

The following on campus parking areas are designated for commuter parking Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:

Parking Lot Number 10, University Parking Deck Level 3
Parking Lot Number 28, Thornton St. Lot
Parking Lot Number 30, William St. Lot (Designated spaces)
Hanover St., Battleground side ONLY, between High St. and Sunken Rd.

FACULTY/STAFF DECALS (NAVY BLUE TOP WITH WHITE REFLECTIVE BOTTON W/ BLACK NUMBERS)

CONTRACT STAFF DECALS (ORANGE TOP WITH WHITE REFLECTIVE BOTTOM W/ BLACK NUMBERS)

Faculty and Staff and Contract Staff are prohibited from parking in student parking lots on campus at anytime the during the year unless instructed otherwise.

PROHIBITED PARKING AREAS

Yellow painted curbs are No Parking Zones / Fire Lanes.
Blocking fire hydrants
Blocking other vehicles/impeding the movement of traffic along any roadway or driveway.
On sidewalks or lawn areas.
Handicap spaces (without a valid permit).
Service vehicle spaces or areas.
Reserved spaces or lots, designated by signs.
All areas restricted by sign or University Police direction.
Any area not designated as a parking space.

**Vehicles parked in the above listed areas are subject to being ticketed and/or may be towed at the owner's expense.

NO WARNING IS REQUIRED BEFORE A VEHICLE IS TICKETED AND TOWED.
