Sexual Harassment Policy Statement

The University of Mary Washington will not tolerate sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment is a form of sexual discrimination and as such is
illegal behavior. Moreover, sexual harassment would subvert the mission
of the University by undermining the positive educational and working
environment the University is committed to providing for all students,
University personnel and visitors.
In compliance with Title VII and IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, it is the University's
policy not to tolerate any verbal, nonverbal or physical behavior that
constitutes sexual harassment. Violation of the policy prohibiting sexual
harassment may lead to disciplinary actions, or termination of employment
or academic status.
