Termination of Employment for Cause
Employment of an adjunct faculty member may be terminated for cause, for any of the following reasons:
• Professional incompetency or lack of teaching effectiveness
• Willful failure to support and abide by the Mary Washington Honor Code
• Neglect of duty
• Serious misconduct
• Moral turpitude
• Physical incapacity or medical disability
The Dean of the Faculty is responsible for making the termination of employment decision, in consultation with the appropriate department chair.
