Security Services
The College provides contracted evening and weekend security services. CGPS security officers may be contacted by calling (540) 286-8055 or (540) 286-8113. Calls will be returned within 20 minutes when security personnel are on duty. Officers are stationed in both the North and South Building lobby areas from 4:45 pm to 11:15 pm Monday through Friday, and from 7:45 am to 5:15 pm on Saturday. The primary role of security is to ensure occupants’ safety and security within the building. They open and close classrooms, and make regular rounds of the buildings and grounds. In case of an emergency, the officer on duty will contact the appropriate county service. Upon request, officers will walk faculty, staff, and students to their cars. If the officer on duty is making rounds and is not at the station, he or she should return within 20 minutes. Security concerns or complaints may be reported to any CGPS staff member.
