HIRING Criteria
To teach undergraduate courses, adjunct faculty are expected to have a graduate degree in his/her area of instruction or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the appropriate field. Program directors also seek individuals with relevant professional credentials and/or certifications, professional experience, and teaching experience. To teach graduate classes, adjunct faculty are expected to have a terminal degree (such as Ph.D. or Ed.D.), appropriate professional credentials and/or certifications, pertinent professional experience, and relevant teaching experience. Additionally, due to unique attributes of CGPS students and the University’s technological emphasis/capabilities, consideration is also given to applicants who have experience with adult learners and familiarity with (or the willingness to learn about) blended/web-based instruction.
