Termination of Employment for Cause

An adjunct faculty member may be terminated for any of the following causes:

  • Professional incompetence or lack of teaching effectiveness
  • Willful failure to support and abide by the University of Mary Washington Honor Code
  • Neglect of duty
  • Serious misconduct
  • Moral turpitude
  • Physical incapacity or medical disability

The dean of the CGPS faculty is responsible for making the termination of employment decision, in consultation with the appropriate program director.
