ADVISING, ACADEMIC.
All degree-seeking students who have not declared a major are advised by academic advisors assigned to students upon entry to the University. When students choose their major fields and declare their majors through the Office of Academic Services, they are assigned advisors from the major department (see MAJOR DECLARATION.). Students may also consult the Office of Academic Services on a variety of academic situations. B.L.S. students may also contact the B.L.S. Office. Assistance in developing academic skills and in choosing a major field is also offered by these offices as well as by the Office of Career Services. Any B.A./B.S. student may request a change in his or her initial advisor by submitting a written request to the Office of Academic Services or a change in his or her major advisor by consulting the chair of the major department. B.L.S. students must contact the B.L.S. Office.
