2.10 Elected Representatives
Nomination and election procedures are as described for other elected positions to standing committees of the faculty.
2.10.1 Faculty Representative to the Board of Visitors (and Faculty Representative to SCHEV) The Faculty President serves as a non-voting representative to the Board of Visitors of the University. The Faculty President serves in accordance with the provisions set forth in section 2.2.3.1 of this Handbook. He or she is a voting ex officio member of the Faculty Affairs Committee, and attends all regularly scheduled meetings of the Board, normally in September, November, February, and April, keeping the Board apprised of faculty concerns and reporting to the Faculty Senate, as appropriate, on Board-related matters. The Faculty President also serves as the representative to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. The Faculty President also attends group meetings between Faculty Senate presidents and the Director of SCHEV, keeping the director apprised of faculty concerns and reporting to the Faculty Senate, as appropriate, on SCHEV-related matters.
2.10.2 Faculty Representative to the Faculty Senate of Virginia The President-Elect serves as the faculty representative to the Faculty Senate of Virginia. The President-Elect is elected in accordance with the provisions set forth in section 2.2.3.2 of this Handbook. He or she is a non-voting ex officio member of the Faculty Affairs Committee, and attends all regularly scheduled meetings of the Faculty Senate of Virginia (FSV), including those arranged between Faculty Senate presidents and the Director of SCHEV, organized by the FSV, keeping the director apprised of faculty concerns and reporting to the Faculty Senate, as appropriate, on FSV-related matters.
