Outcomes Assessment

Like other public institutions of higher education in Virginia, UMW's CGPS is required to evaluate the effectiveness of its programs and services. The University's assessment process includes obtaining measures of general education, program concentrations, student perceptions of University services, and alumni surveys.

Near the end of each semester, students are given the opportunity to evaluate the instructor for each course in which they are enrolled. These evaluations are used for faculty performance evaluation as well as for professional development of the individual faculty member.
