Payment of Accounts
(Also See Fee/Tuition Payment)

Full payment of tuition and fees must be received by published due dates. Failure to meet payment deadlines will result in a 10 percent late penalty, denial of registration for any future courses, and possible dismissal from the University. At the end of a semester, a student with an account balance for library fines, lost books, or other miscellaneous charges will not receive grades or transcripts until the account is paid in full. Degree students planning to graduate whose accounts are not paid will not be permitted to participate in Commencement exercises, or receive their diploma. All students will receive an e-bill for their course(s) via their UMW email account. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the UMW Office of Student Accounts if a bill has not been received within 20 days of the beginning of classes. Any charge incurred in collecting a delinquent account will be added to the account. This applies but is not limited to charges by an attorney or a collection agency.

Methods of Payment

Acceptable methods of payment include check, money order, cashier's check or credit card. FACTS Management Company (FACTS), a private firm unaffiliated with UMW, offers a variety of payment plans to assist families and students in making the cost of the University more manageable. Utilizing the services of FACTS is the only acceptable means of making monthly or partial payments. For additional information please contact FACTS at 800-609-8056. Checks returned for insufficient funds will be considered as nonpayment and therefore subject to late fee. Additionally, a $35 service fee will be charged for any returned check.
