Bachelor of Professional Studies General Education
The Bachelor of Professional Studies degree requires that students complete 30 credits of general education requirements as outlined below.
Lower Division General Education Requirements (21 credits)
(These credits may be transferred from another institution, earned at UMW, or acquired through nontraditional education experiences.)
| GE1: English Competency (3 semester credits) |
| Completion of ENGL 101 Writing Workshop or an equivalent college-level course in English composition. View transferable courses>>

| GE2: Science and Mathematics (6 semester credits ). |
| Completion of two science courses or one science course and one college-level math course. View transferable courses>>

| GE3: Humanities (6 semester credits) |
| Courses from disciplines such as acting, art appreciation, art history, classics, creative writing, foreign languages, history of drama, history of film, literature, music appreciation, music history, philosophy (excluding logic and reasoning), and religion.View transferable courses>>

| GE4: Social Sciences (6 semester credits) |
| Courses from disciplines such as anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.View transferable courses>>

Upper Division General Education Requirements (9 credits)

Completion of BPST 311 Critical Thinking, Research, and Presentation and BPST 312 Technical and Business Communication or equivalent courses.
