Korean students will study at UMW
This fall, the University will welcome a group of 14 students from the Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, Korea.
Their presence will add a new dimension to the campus, according to Esther Yook, director of the University’s Speaking Center. Plans already are under way to expand the program to include 20 students the following academic year.
“The program is a very forward-looking initiative that will simultaneously bring more diversity to our campus and allow international students to learn about American values and our culture,” Yook said.?
She believes the program will enhance learning in the campus community.
“Our interactions with the Korean students will lead us to learn about different cultures and to discover different perspectives,” Yook said. “These interactions will also be an opportunity to indirectly learn about ourselves.”
