Ute Buseman Reid has three children and seven grandchildren. She received a master’s degree in 1955 in medical microbiology, and worked as a bacteriological researcher and chemistry teacher. She and William now live in Marco Island, Fla., and travel as much as possible.

Florence “Sissy” Irvin Kintzing taught P.E. and coached volleyball for 27 years in the Clarkstown district of the New York school system. She and husband Dave have two children and three grandsons.

Newcomers to Arizona are Martha “Marti” Hoke Harris and husband Thad. They are 3,000 feet above sea level in the Green Valley, 23 miles south of Tucson. They appreciate the calm traffic as well as the desert flora and fauna and the mountain views. Peggy Snellings Rampersad moved from Chicago to Fredericksburg in 2000, but enjoys returning to Chicago often to visit her daughter, a lawyer. Peggy is now trying to live a life in art and very much likes painting and drawing. Her artist friends from Mary Washington, Ann Dewitt Harvey and Lois Andrews Jordan ’52, encourage her.

Mary Frances Gaylord Loy paints and teaches her craft as well. Her husband is also a painter and teacher. They have two daughters and three granddaughters, one recently adopted from Romania. Daughter Jessica Loy recently published a children’s camping book, Follow the Trail. Daughter Alyson lives in the Boston area, where she is a teacher and filmmaker.

Still teaching piano and playing tennis is Sally Hammett Davis. She is also starting a class in electronic keyboard at a senior citizens center. Sally and husband Robert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last spring. They received cards from Betty Anderson Buck and Martha Virginia “Ginny” Bailes. Ginny is back in Strasburg, Va. She is still in touch with her original roommates: Pat Saunders, Kitty Garland Obenshain and Betty Anderson Buck.

Barbara Fasick Wittstock writes that after 48 years of marriage, she and her Swiss husband have decided to part ways. Barbara earned a master’s degree in business administration and economics. She spent her life volunteering in community schools, and now teaches the elderly how to use computers. Barbara has three daughters, a son and six grandsons.

Living on picturesque Skidaway Island, Ga., is Mary-Nelson Coleman Hoornstra. She enjoys the beauty of the tides and sunsets. Mary had sad news – she lost her husband, Paul, last April.

Jean Kimball Gray is in her dream vacation/retirement home on Kentucky Lake, Ky. She plays tennis three times a week and plays golf when she can. She also plays handbells for her church, is active in the Emmaus community and serves on the Jackson Purchase Dance Company board of directors. Sadly, Jean’s youngest daughter was killed two years ago, causing a huge void in her life. She was the administrator of the health care facility that Jean owns. Jean says she and her other two daughters and son have survived the terrible loss. The two oldest of Jean’s seven grandchildren are in college.
