From outgoing Class Agents Judith Finger Bradley and Barbara Ioanes:

We had the rainiest, coldest weekend imaginable, but probably the best reunion of all. About 60 classmates traveled from as far away as California. Our lively conversations focused on old dorm antics, loves kept and lost, professors admired and disparaged and the infamous U.S. Marine Corps.

Many of us are still involved in our professions. Among our classmates are ministers, authors, artists, lobbyists, lawyers, teachers and health professionals. We may very well be giving the term “senior citizen” a new definition. We also noticed very little talk about children and grandchildren – much as we love them – as we were more interested in each other’s personal journeys.

The highlight of the weekend was the dedication ceremony of the new alumni center, named for our own Alice Andrews Jepson. We enjoyed the bagpipes, the champagne and the magnificent artwork, including a marvelous painting by Sally Crenshaw Witt’s son. Sally and Sara Page Cosby Mayo were also recognized for their generous contributions to the new center at Trench Hill. Mark your calendars for the first weekend in June 2009 for our next reunion.

Victoria Taylor Allen has lived in Westchester County, N.Y., for more than 30 years. She is now widowed and keeps busy working in the development office of the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Conn. Victoria is also a lecturer in literature and art history in an adult-education program called Barat House at Manhattanville College, where she serves on the alumni board. In her spare time, she travels abroad, primarily to Paris and London, and in March visited relatives in Amsterdam. For many years, she has enjoyed her subscriptions to the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic. She spends part of each summer in Nantucket.

Thanks for keeping us entertained the past five years. Keep your news coming to our new class agents.
