Todd Stayin is married and living in Clifton, Va. The director of engineering network integration for Winstar Communications, he plays doubles tennis every week with Mike Antonio, Steve Wohleking ’91 and Joe King. They also play softball on a team that includes Dave Sanders ’91, Ben Hurley ’91, Jeff Miers ’90, Mark Mesterhazy ’91, Gary Witzenburg ’91, James Whalen ’91, and Bart LaGrassa ’93.

Michele Abernathy Loving lives with husband Mike in Middletown, Md. They were expecting their first child in June. Michele is a school psychologist in the Howard County Public Schools and is working on a Ph.D. at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Wendy Scott and Ken Stuck ’90 live in Newport News, Va., with their two children. Wendy no longer teaches high school Spanish, but plans to return to teaching after both kids are in school.

Michaela Lajda Ames lives in Kentucky with husband Justin. They were planning to buy their first home. “Mish” works as a free-lance translator and interpreter. Lisa E. Bevell is in Northern Virginia. Kimberly Eckhart Piper’s husband, Keith, has successfully fought cancer. They have three children. Kimberly is a stay-at-home mom who volunteers at her church and teaches piano lessons.

Patty Mims and her husband, Mike Geltinger, had their first child, Ava Catherine, in February. Laura Jones Sabo and husband Greg had a baby girl, Lois, last December. She joins older brother Oliver, 2. Jean Melvin married Lance James in September 2003 in Baltimore.

Nell Ford and Joe Clayton have been married since September 2000. They recently bought a house in Hampton, Va. Nell is a lawyer in Virginia Beach, and Joe is a financial adviser who recently completed his MBA at William and Mary.

Emma Collins Knight lives in Savannah, Ga. She has two sons, Colin and Evan. Betsy Lindsey recently completed an MBA at the University of Washington. She lives in Seattle and works for Silicon Valley Bank.

Tammy Cakouros George and husband Paul live in Bristow, Va. They have three children: Nathan, 8; Alex, 6; and Bridget, 3. Tammy is a part-time therapist and school volunteer. Sara Askew McGovern lives down the street from Tammy. Her daughter Emily, 2, is friends with Tammy’s Bridget. Sara was expecting a baby boy in the summer.

Joanna Raterman Taylor lives in Connecticut with her husband and three children. Karen Blocker ’91 teaches fifth grade in Bristow, Va.

Emily Riebau, who lives in Port St. Lucie, reports that she was declared in remission from cancer in August 2003. Sadly, her husband of 27 years, William, passed away last December. In addition, Emily recently suffered extensive damage to her home and pool from Hurricane Frances but, fortunately, was not injured.

James “Darrin” Cassedy and Kari Rice ’94 live in Manassas, Va., with their dog and two cats. Darrin is a police officer and Kari is an occupational therapist for Fairfax County Public Schools. They are pursuing domestic adoption of an infant and welcome any leads or information.

Lance Whitesel is a senior software engineer for VTC in Alexandria, Va. He and Jennifer Murphy Whitesel ’90, live in Springfield, Va. Jen is a stay-at-home mom for their three boys and is also a kickboxing instructor.

Karolyn Hall works in the travel business in Richmond, organizing group motor-coach tours. She is very active in tennis, golf and scuba diving, and plays in a soccer league with Gabby Sulzbach.

After spending six years teaching high school math and coaching sports, Susan Myers Garber is enjoying time at home with her three children.

Brady Chapman resides at the beach in Bradenton, Fla., with wife Kristen, and their 2-year-old son, Cal. Brady owns a small insurance agency. Jeremiah Brophy lives in South Africa. Thomas Brophy ’94 lives in Washington, D.C., with wife Gemma. Their first child was born last spring. Jay McNamara ’94 and wife Stephanie, who live in Chesapeake, Va., had their first child last spring.

Dave Derkowski lives in Chicago and works for Warner Brothers promoting bands. He and wife Michelle have two daughters.

Jennifer Freed has remained in the Fredericksburg area since graduation. She works at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren, and last year received two awards at a ceremony to coincide with Dahlgren’s 85th anniversary. Linda Kelly Hadley and husband Jeff have moved to Apex, N.C.; daughter Anna Grace was born in February 2003.

Jen Strong York and husband Scott had a baby girl, Sara, in April 2003. They now live in Temecula, Calif. Jen is an analyst for a financial consulting firm. She sees Paul Sargent ’94 and wife Colleen, and Matt Sawyer and wife Jodi, frequently. On a trip to Virginia, Jen saw Cristin Tomassone and husband, John Pozniak ’90. They recently had their third child and live in Ashburn, Va.

Jackie Rueckert Lakely ’91 is thriving as an artist and living in Arlington, Va., with husband Jim. Lydia Cordes ’93 graduated from law school last summer and was trying to decide where to practice. Rebecca Gajadalo Gruber lives in Ellicott City, Md., with husband Dave and their two sons. Chrissy Gray is an assistant principal in Washington, D.C.

Paul Greene has settled in Fort Worth, Texas, after spending the first five years after graduation in the U.S. Virgin Islands. (Several hurricanes blew him out of there!) Paul is now senior financial representative for Fidelity Investments.

Melissa Brugh finished her MBA at Regent University in May 2002 and is an IT business analyst for Sentara Healthcare. She is happily single and involved in her church.

Dawn Sauter-Regan ’91 and husband Ed live in McLean, Va., with son Matthew, 3, and daughter Sarah Emily, 1. Dawn received a Ph.D. in economics and worked for the government, but is now a full-time mom.

Brian Miller lives in Herndon, Va., with wife Brijet and four children. He is a software developer for General Dynamics and received an M.S. in information systems from George Mason University in 2002.

Doug Stanley and Jenny Springer ’94 live with their daughter in Front Royal, Va. Doug is the Warren County administrator, and Jenny is the reading and writing specialist for Manassas Park Middle School.

Andrea Feeback-Lee and husband Joe recently moved to the San Francisco Bay area Andrea is a pediatrician, and Joe is a urologist. They had a baby boy, Michael, in August 2003.

Matthew H. Downs is an accountant for Keane in Boston. In summer he fishes in Nantucket and in winter, he skis in Vermont.

Bob Jones lives in Miami Beach, where he operates several nightclubs. Laura Jones Sabo, Jeanne Edwards, Andrew Salp ’94 and his wife Jill Whelan ’94, and Eric Boler ’91 have all visited.

Jennifer Stallings Herndon and husband Rob have three children and live in Newport News, Va. Mary Kay Jasper Hornberger lives in Chester, Va., with her husband and two daughters. Jarrod A. Epps has lived in Prague for eight years. He sold his business and is now working with a tech firm. He spends most of his vacation time traveling around the world.

Mark Clark is married and has two kids. He lives in the Washington, D.C., area. Sean Holcomb lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter. Brendan Casey is married and living in Chicago.

Lara Hausch earned a master’s degree from U.Va. She now lives in Sterling, Va., and teaches high school French. The teacher she replaced was also a Mary Washington graduate: Ashlee Talbott-Boehret ’95. Lara is coaching girls’ tennis again and enjoys traveling. Chris Knighting is an elementary school teacher in Baltimore.

Kate Stanford McCown and husband John had a daughter, Mary Ella, in June 2003. Kate is an attorney with the Office of General Counsel at the Social Security Administration. She and her family live in Burke, Va.

After living in Japan, Maryland, South Korea and Connecticut, Victoria “Vicki” Inge Jones settled in Corpus Christi, Texas, with husband Thomas and four kids.
Andy Gustafson is married and living in Northern Virginia. He is the author of 23 Days in Korea: An American at the World Cup. Amanda “Mandy” J. Harden Anderson is married and living in Spotsylvania County. She earned an MS in systems engineering from George Mason University and works for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems.

Keri Crawford DeAngelis is director of marketing for Hasbro Toys. She lives in Westwood, Mass., with husband Bob and son Matthew.


Steve and Sarah Atkins Jenkins have two boys. Steve is a senior quality adjustor at World Access, and Sarah is a lead software developer for Farm Bureau Insurance.

Jennifer Blashkiw Pawley earned a master’s degree in German from Ohio State University. She is married and works as a publishing coordinator for School Specialty Children’s Publishing, formerly McGraw-Hill Children’s Publishing.

Jennifer Tompkins Knutsson and husband Eric have two children. Jennifer teaches first grade in Spotsylvania County and keeps in touch with roommates Kim Nagy Perez, who got married in November 2003; Janine Burpo Morrison; and Staci Musselman Howard.

Randy and Debbie Krauth Dail report that Randy’s father passed away in November as a result of a rare cancer.

The “Happy Twins,” Jeni Levering Galvin and Katie Levering Sears, both are married and live outside of Charlottesville, Va. Katie has two children and has started a landscape maintenance business. Jeni helps with the business and also does vegetable gardening.

Karen Cerra and husband Derek Hardy ’93 live in Warrenton, Va., with their two children. Karen is a stay-at-home mom, and Derek is a crime-scene detective with Fairfax County.

Jennifer Moravec Madison ’93 lives in Glen Allen, Va., with husband Kelly and their three children. Malia Hamilton lives and works in New York and was planning a wedding for November.

Kate Gordon Crossman and husband Matt live on the North Carolina coast with son William Henry, 7, and daughter Mary Ellen, 5. Kate does freelance print and web work. Carol Holsinger Zuraf and husband Mike recently left downtown Fredericksburg for a larger home in Spotsylvania. They have two young children.

Dawn Stone Chenault lives in Mechanicsville, Va., with husband Stan and their two children. Dawn works for Massey Energy at its corporate headquarters in downtown Richmond. Dawn reports that Rowena Poythress-Callis lives in Richmond with husband Todd.


Vanessa Martin Johnson worked in banking and health insurance for several years, but now stays home with daughter Rachel and son Nicholas.

Julie Lail Porter is married and lives in Norfolk with her husband and two children. She is director of IT development for Abacus Communications; in her spare time, she likes to travel and work on their circa-1935 house.

Mary Ryan Cox is married and lives in Fairfax, Va. She is a project manager for Paradigm Development. Dorothy Ogburn Wood and her husband have a baby girl. Steve Lee and wife Lindsay Mast ’93 have two children: Cameron, 7, and Sydney, 6. Steve works for a defense contractor.

Tevin Chaney lives in Williamsburg, Va., and owns his own miniature golf course. Rebecca Murphy Fox ’90 lives in Richmond with her husband and two children, Matthew and Jordan. She is an elementary school teacher and sells Creative Memories scrapbooking supplies. Susan Rankin Combs lives in Herndon and is a teacher. She has a son, Cameron, 5. Susan is working on a master’s degree in library science.

Ruth Pollack Marr lives in Woodbridge, Va., and is staying home with Evan, 5; Katherine, 3; and Nathaniel, 1.

Lyn Rahilly is married and lives in Burke, Va. She is an attorney for the Department of Homeland Security.

Nicole Brown Davidson was married in October 2003. After a Hawaiian honeymoon, she and her husband came home, sold her condo in two weeks, and then spent the holidays looking for their first house. They moved into their new home last February.

Suzie Head Smartt, Rebecca Gajdalo Gruber and Sarah Perri Spalding met in March for a long weekend at Suzie’s home in Dallas. Suzie and husband Chris have two children. Rebecca lives in Maryland with husband Dave and their two sons. Sarah lives in Orlando with husband John and their two daughters.
Todd Bosch and wife Linda live in Oyster Bay, N.Y. Todd works for Morgan Stanley in New York and jet-sets around the world on business. Karen Richardson lives in Fredericksburg with partner Julie. Karen is a high school teacher in Stafford County. She and Julie spend lots of time camping, canoeing, kayaking and hiking. Erin Patrick Duncan lives in Northern Virginia with husband Billy Duncan ’91 and daughters Abbey, 4, and Cassidy, 2. Erin works part time as a physical therapist, and enjoys vacationing at the beaches in North Carolina.

Cindy Short Wood recently moved to Pensacola, Fla., with husband Jon and their four children. Marci Michaud has returned to the U.S. after living for several years in Istanbul, Turkey. She recently began a job with the World Health Organization and hopes to move abroad again. Peter Novak lives in Modesto, Calif., with his wife and daughter.

Jay and I added to our family by having twins in October 2003. Carson and Jackson were born with only one minute separating them. (I am sure they will argue over that minute many times in the future!) They join brother Mercer, 3. I work part time as a librarian at Brentsville District High School in Prince William County.
