From outgoing Class Agent Jill McDaniel:
Wow! It has been great hearing from so many of you. All of our accomplishments since graduation are so amazing. Carrie Columbia and Jeff Campbell ’97 had a baby girl, Catherine Adele, last February. Jeff recently graduated from Drew University with a master of divinity degree. Katy Burke Stribling lives in Annandale, Va., with her husband and two children. Amy Minter Calfee got married in August 2002 and lives in Charlottesville, Va. She is a mom as well as a nurse practitioner. Carin Gsellman Feick is an occupational therapist in Maryland. She is married and has a daughter.

Jill Chamberlin Powell works in Arlington as a marketing manager for Federal Realty Investment Trust. She and Brian live in Lake Ridge, Va., and were awaiting the birth of their first baby in September. Ann Rasmussen Krannitz and husband Stefan live in Germany with their two children. Heather Bensten-Schone lives in Northern Virginia with husband Lance and their two daughters. Maureen Berry Ritt is now a mom to two. Another new mom is Tracy Vecchione, who had a boy, Joshua Tyler, with husband Stan Fissel ’95. Tracy is a school social worker.

Jarrett L. and Dru Abramson Perdue ’97 were awaiting the birth of their daughter in June. Dru received a second degree from Mary Washington in May – her M.Ed. Jarrett is trying his hand at freelance writing.

Jamie Wasserman and wife Michelle celebrated the New Year with the birth of their son, Alex. Jamie is a technical writer in Baltimore and develops online courses as well as graphics and web design. Bryan Tucker and wife Puja are new parents, as are Bharat Somanath and his wife. Both couples live in Florida.
Emily “Kate” Campbell McPhatter gave birth to baby Emma Catherine last January. Kate is enjoying a leave of absence from Lynchburg City Schools, where she teaches eighth grade Earth science.

Lisa Errickson Henry is marketing manager of a four-hospital health system in Harrisburg, Pa. She and husband Kevin have two children. Lisa is working on a master’s degree in health care administration.

Anndelynn “Andi” Tapscott and William “Tug” Martin are new parents to William McTyeire Martin V, born last March. They live in Littleton, Colo., where their neighbors are Tom and Samantha “Sam” Morris Schroeder.

Brenna Hall Hessler received a nursing degree from Marymount University in 2001 and works at Fairfax Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. She and Jody have two children. Kathleen Harter Lundahl lives in Rota, Spain, with husband Dave and son Joseph. Jennifer Crowley Fyke works for the Coast Guard Foundation. She has a son, Benjamin, and lives in Stonington, Conn.

Christine Warden Gilley lives in Jacksonville, Fla., with husband David and daughter Grace Margaret. Christine is a project control manager with Computer Sciences Corp. Amy Gulick Frigaard and husband Scott were awaiting the birth of their second child in June.

Edwina Wilson Word and husband Mark have two children. Edwina works for GE Financial Assurance, now Genworth, and is a very active member in Toastmasters International, winning several competitions. Alison Knuth Brown and husband Jason live in Los Angeles. Alison is a director at Millward Brown, a leading brand research company, and has a son, Rowan.

Kari Neckel Mitchum is a mom and works at ICBA. She lives with her family in Fairfax Station, Va. Lowell ’95 and Dana Birkholz Whitney live in Florence, Mont., with daughter Alison. Lowell is managing a habitat conservation plan for the state of Montana and U.S. Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Dana is a marketing representative for Missoula Federal Credit Union.

Also in Montana were Erik and Martha Fay Burtis. Erik recently earned a master’s degree in geology, and Martha worked as director of web development at the University of Montana. Erik began pursuing a Ph.D. in geology this fall at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Troy Huffman works for Archstone-Smith, a property management company, and lives in Northern Virginia. He and his wife had a baby girl in March. Tomaudrie Rudd and Harry Thomas ’97 live in Fredericksburg with Brenea, 6, and Brysen, 2. Harry finished his first year as director of counseling at North Stafford High School last summer, and Tomaudrie is an intensive probation and parole officer.

Tiffany Hill Jones lives in Norfolk. Tanya Thrasher Logan works in McLean, Va., as an accounting supervisor. Erin McGintee Conlon completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is now doing an allergy and immunology fellowship there. She and husband Dave welcomed daughter Nora Marie in March. Erin was a guest at Kevin Cooke’s wedding to Maria Nielson in October 2003. Mike Mattock, Pete Sullivan ’97, and Aaron Mudry ’97 were in the wedding party. Other guests included Fred and Cheryl Cole Nelson ’95, Kurt Bratten and wife Sally, Craig Fear and Adam Lurie. Mike and Adam both had wedding plans for the fall.

John Probasco lives in Wrightstown, N.J., with wife Denise, and is working on his family’s farm. Kathleen Heather Hallowes is married and lives in New York.
Lori Stevens was busy with wedding plans. She works for Amerigroup Corp. in Virginia Beach as director of regulatory compliance. Stephanie Phillips Kramer was married last May. She teaches fourth grade and lives in Richmond. Bichlan “Bic” Nguyen DeCaro was married last June. She lives with her husband and two dogs in Great Falls, Va. Bic is senior executive director of business development for AHC Inc. and also is a real estate agent.

Angie Long and husband Warren Fischi ’93 are living in Richmond. Angie is a licensed social worker. Jenna Thomas Amirault and husband Chris live in Connecticut. Victoria “Tori” Hillyer and Bill Brantley ’95 moved from Woodbridge, Va., to the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria. Tori works for the U.S. Navy Aegis Program at the Washington Navy Yard, and Bill works for the government in logistics. Bill loves to spend his summers playing baseball, and Tori challenged herself to participate in a 330-mile bike ride in June to raise money for a charity.

Gretchen Hurley is working on a master’s degree at Georgetown. Joanna Osborne recently earned an MFA. Peter Steinberg recently published his first book, Sylvia Plath. He lives in Boston’s North End and works in the financial intelligence unit at Boston Private Bank and Trust Co. Also living in Boston is Anne Harrel, who owns her own business.

Keith and Christina “Chrissy” Kauten ’94 Steury fulfilled a lifelong dream and ran in the Dublin Marathon. Amy Wood and husband Jordan recently moved to St. Louis.

Jennifer Bendery moved with partner Ruth to Austin, Texas. Jennifer is a political writer covering the Texas legislature. She is also a book and music critic for an international online pop culture magazine and has traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Mike and Christina Snyder Gilsbach ’97 also are living in Austin. They work together as developers for Quest Software. Maria Oldfield works for American Greetings Corp. Johnny ’95 and Adriana Rissetto Puckett work at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, where Adriana is senior web developer and Johnny is network administrator. They have three children.

Jennifer Woodman Stern and husband Dani are proud parents of Hayley, born in July 2003. The family planned to move to Denver.

Christy Haga Turner lives in Richmond with husband David. She is associate pastor of Bon Air United Methodist Church. Jenny Atkins is a buyer for Hecht’s and received her MBA in May. Cara Flanagan Campbell lives in Nokesville, Va., with husband Wayne and son Nathan.

Jeffrey Kramer lives in Arlington, Va., and is a sales rep for Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. Emilie Hopkins Renaldy and husband Jason were planning to move back to Pittsburgh with daughter Caroline.

After living in Sydney for four years, Bonnie Bullock Preston and husband Greg moved to Perth in western Australia. They love the beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle. Bonnie is an account director at Shearmans Strategic Communication. She also sits on the board of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
Katherine “Katie” Walston McElwain is a teacher in Baltimore County. Her college roommate, Kelly Ruark Krupinsky, lives in Severn, Md., with husband Kevin.

Kelly works for the Legal Aid Bureau. Heather Shugard lives in Florida. Heather Marsden lives in New York and practices law. She has spent several weeks at a time in England working with Lloyd’s of London.


Lydia Evans Sfeir is married and lives in Denver. Heather Kellam Savage is married and lives in Virginia Beach. Caitlin Fowler works at the Weather Channel and lives in Atlanta. She was planning a fall wedding. Ellen Porcaro Kynoch ’97 just moved from San Francisco to Charlottesville, Va., where she is a registered nurse at the U.Va. Medical Center. She plans to attend graduate school. Anne Mason Rice was married in 1999 and lives in Richmond. She was expecting a baby boy. Sarah King Josephson lives in Richmond and teaches high school art. She was married in July 2002. Megan Singleton Cornelius is a Realtor in Charlotte, N.C., and is mom to Anna and Evan.

Debbie Barrett Ziegler is married and has a son, Bobby. Stephanie Howard Whitaker and husband Rodney live in the Lake Anna area and were expecting a baby girl.

Jim “Bones” Anderson was a paramedic in the Washington, D.C., area, but moved to Charlottesville to attend U.Va.’s medical school. Corrie Henson and Brendan Kelly ’95 live in Charlottesville and have two children. Brendan works at the National Ground Intelligence Center, and Corrie stays home with the kids.

Derek Bottcher lives in Arlington and works for Charles Schwab as a branch manager. Suzanna “Suki” Braverman lives in Portland, Ore., where she works as an occupational therapist specializing in hand therapy. Jeff Larry lives in Burlington, Vt., where he started Restoration Concepts, an historic restoration company. He was planning to relocate to the D.C. area this fall. Stephanie Bowman lives in Greeley, Colo., and is the manager of a lab for a small chemical company.

Michelle Labbe recently moved to Berlin, Md., and teaches elementary art for the Indian River School District in Selbyville, Del. She also is part-time manager for World Gym in Ocean City, Md. Michelle Kurdonik Marlow and husband David moved to Union, N.J., last summer. She gave birth to Trent Jacob in November 2003. Crayton and Theresa Racey Simmons live in Hawaii, where Crayton is stationed with the Army. He was deployed to Afghanistan in March. Theresa works for the Salvation Army in Honolulu.

Patrick Ryskamp was elected shareholder with the law firm Williams, Parker, Harrison, Dietz & Getzen in Sarasota, Fla. He received his JD with honors from Stetson University School of Law.

Robin Coates Swink has been promoted to supervising senior at Charlottesville’s Hantzmon, Wiebel & Co., one of Virginia’s largest certified public accounting firms.

As for me, I am still teaching second grade. It’s hard to believe I’ve been at it for six years. Continue to e-mail, write or call!
