
Rosalind Wiseman
Bestselling author Rosalind Wiseman was guest speaker for the September
President’s Book Club program. Her book, Queen Bees and Wannabes:
Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends & Other Realities
of Adolescence, was the inspiration behind the recently released Paramount
motion picture, Mean Girls.
Co-founder of The Empower Program,
Wiseman works actively to halt violence among adolescent teens. Through her
book and through seminars, she touches on topics like cliques, teasing and
bullying. She has been recognized as a national finalist for the Jefferson
Award for Greatest Public Service by an Individual 35 Years and Younger, and
was a recipient of the Donner Foundation’s 21st Century Fellowship.
