Three new members have joined the University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors.
In June, Gov. Mark R. Warner appointed Randall R. Eley of Falls Church, Va.;
Martha Kearns Leighty ’75 of Richmond; and Patricia Branstetter Revere
’63 of Midlothian, Va. Their terms expire in June of 2008.
Eley is founder, president and chief investment officer of The Edgar Lomax
Company and trustee emeritus of the Board of Trustees of The Endowment Association
of the College of William and Mary. A graduate of Yale University with a juris
doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School, he has appeared on CNN,
CNBC and the Nightly Business Report. Eley succeeds Dorcas R. Hardy.
Leighty, who has a master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University,
is assistant dean of arts, humanities and social sciences and chair of the
English department at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. She serves on
the State Council of Higher Education as well as other education-related boards
and committees. Leighty succeeds Dori G. Eglevsky.
Revere, former president of the Mary Washington Alumni Association Board of
Directors, has a master’s degree from VCU. A recipient of Mary Washington’s
“Frances Liebenow Armstrong Service Award” for outstanding service
to the University and the Alumni Association, Revere serves on the University
of Mary Washington Real Estate Foundation Board of Directors. She succeeds
Charles D. Welty.
