Soccer team

In 2004, Mary Washington continued its tradition as one of the finest NCAA Division III women’s soccer programs in the nation. The Eagles, coached by Kurt Glaeser, won their 13th Capital Athletic Conference championship, advanced to the NCAA tournament for the 12th time, and won at least ten matches for the 18th straight year. The team was led in scoring by senior midfielder Kathryn Amirpashaie, who surpassed the career 100-point mark. She, along with the other four seniors on the team, had the distintion of winning four CAC championships and advancing to four NCAA tournaments.
