Cellular Telephone Donations Program

Do you have unused cellular telephones at home?

If so, they can be used for a good cause to support the community!

Beginning August 1, 2008, donations of unused cellular telephones may be dropped off at UMW Public Safety headquarters located in Brent Hall which is open 24/7 throughout the year.  For those at the Stafford Campus, Centre Court, Belmont and/or James Monroe Law Library, please feel free to send your donations via campus mail to:  UMW Public Safety, Attn:  Emergency Communications Officer Delotach.

The collected phones will be donated to the City of Fredericksburg Police Department and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Department for use in their respective crime prevention programs assisting the elderly and victims of domestic violence.

All cell phones being donated to the program should be cleared of personal information such as stored phone numbers, pictures or messages before you deposit them in the collection box/send them through campus mail.

UMW Public Safety Division plans for this to be an ongoing program to help those of our community in need.

“Small donations can make a BIG difference”.
