Bob has been with the University of Mary Washington since 1986. First employed in the Athletic Department as the Head Athletic Trainer for Intercollegiate Sports, he has been a member of the Campus Recreation Department since 2003. Bob holds two Master of Science in Education degrees; one from Virginia Tech in Exercise Physiology and one from Old Dominion University in Athletic Training. He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1979 in Health and Physical Education. Bob is a nationally certified athletic trainer with the National Athletic Trainers Association, a professional member of the Virginia Athletic Trainer's Association, and is licensed to practice athletic training in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Additionally, Bob is a professional member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, NIRSA, the Virginia Recreational Sports Association, the National Wellness Institute and Phi Delta Kappa, the professional association in education. He successfully completed the NIRSA sponsored National School of Recreational Sports Management - Level 1 course in June 2007. Bob enjoys weight training, hiking, fishing, golfing, reading and spending time with his family. He is married to Mindy, a geometry teacher and yearbook sponsor at Courtland High School in Spotsylvania County and has two children, Cooper, a Civil Engineering student at Virginia Tech, and Stephanie, a student at Courtland High School.
