Campus Recreation Field

CRF at UMW

The Campus Recreation Field (CRF) is the second crown jewel facility for Campus Recreation and the University of Mary Washington community.  The CRF is the new home to many of our Eagle Sport Club programs and plays host to all outdoor IM Sports competitions on campus.  The facility also is used for open recreation, campus special events, as well as some intercollegiate team training sessions. The state-of-the-art ATurf surface allows practices and competition to take place in virtually any type of weather, and the Musco Advanced Lighting system enables play to continue into the evening and in overcast conditions.

The Campus Recreation Field is a secure facility and can be reserved for group use through the Department of Recreation.  In general, UMW sport clubs will share practice time in the afternoon to early evening.  Intramural sports competition will now take place from 7:00 pm into the late evening hours. There may be limited hours a few weeknights prior to intramural competition for open recreation.  Please check the Campus Recreation website to view any open recreation times.

The Campus Recreation Field complex includes all of the following:

  • 2 full-size recreational fields for intramural and sport club use
  • 1 full-size main field for sport club home matches
  • 2 intramural and club softball diamonds
  • 1 club baseball practice diamond
  • Portable spectator bleachers
  • Player benches
  • Restroom and storage building
