High School Boys’ Lacrosse Prep Camp – Boys, Grades 9-12 - June 8
The Eagles Boys’ Lacrosse High School Prep Camp is open to high school boys who are in grades 9-12. The Prep Camp is designed to give players the opportunity to experience a college training environment as well as get exposure to the University of Mary Washington’s coaching staff and other college coaches who make up the Prep camp staff.
Eagles Soccer Academy: “Youth camp”- Boys and Girls, Ages 6-15 - Session 1- June 16-19; Session 2 – June 23-26; Session 3 – July 21-24
The Eagles Soccer Academy provides soccer players with an opportunity to focus on their skill development in a fun and relaxing environment. The camp provides an experienced staff, which will feature small groups focused on individual technique and small-sided games. Whether you are a seasoned veteran looking to sharpen your skills or just beginning, our academy is a great opportunity to learn more about soccer while having fun.
High School Girls’ Lacrosse Clinic – Girls, Grades 9-12 - Session 1: June 19; Session 2: July 16
The women’s lacrosse team here at UMW is committed to providing an excellent learning environment where athletes from grades 9-12 can sharpen their skills and demonstrate their technical and tactical abilities. Each clinic will provide ample opportunities for you to showcase your skills while learning what it takes to play at the next level.
Baseball Youth Camps – Grades K-8 - Session 1: June 23-June 26; Session 2: July 21-July 24
The University of Mary Washington and Head Baseball Coach Wayne Riser along with Current coaching staff and current UMW players will be holding summer baseball Instructional Youth Camps for players in grades K-8 (based on the 2013-14 school year). Players will receive instruction in areas such as: hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, catching, defense and injury prevention. Parental attendance is optional. All campers pick up and drop off will be at Dickinson Stadium. All campers will be grouped by age for camp management and group movement. All Campers will receive the same instruction regardless of age or group. Campers benefit from identical fundamental instruction which will enhance their player development. Learn to play the “UMW WAY”!
Baseball–Riser Hitting Camp — Grades 6-12 – June 30-July 16
Head Coach Wayne Riser will be offering one session of Summer Hitting Camps. These camps are open to players in grades 6-12 (2013-2014 school year). Camp sessions will operate on three Monday evenings and three wednesday evenings from 6pm-7pm and 7pm-8pm. You choose a one hour time slot to attend. This camp is for the serious athlete who wants increased individual instruction and maximum repetition while working closely with the University of Mary Washington Head Baseball Coach.
Nike Girls’ Lacrosse Camp – Girls, Ages 10-18 - July 6-July 9
The Girls’ Nike Lacrosse Camp accepts female campers from ages 10-18, and overnight and extended day (9am-9pm) packages are available. This camp will challenge girls of all skill levels and abilities to get better results from their lacrosse training, build new skills and improve their play. Instruction takes place each day at UMW’s Campus Recreation Turf Complex, while overnight campers reside in student dorms located adjacent to the fields.
Nike Boys’ Lacrosse Camp — Boys, Ages 10-18 - July 9-July 12
At the Nike Boys Lacrosse Camp at the University of Mary Washington, our goal is to stimulate a love for the game by immersing you in the sport and giving you the kind of focused, intensive training essential to improvement. Over the course of camp, your enthusiasm and self-confidence will grow along with your skills. Boys ages 10-18 are encouraged to sign up for either the overnight or extended day (9am-9pm) packages.
Girls’ Nike Field Hockey Camp – Girls, Ages 10-18 - Session 1: July 13-July 16; Session 2: July 17-July 19
You will be able to sign up for an overnight stay or extended stay (9am-9pm), and there will be both an All Skills Camp as well as a Team Camp. Instruction is available to girls, ages 10-18, playing at any ability level from beginner to advance. Players develop their stickwork technique, their strategic game play and further developing their love of the game. Campers will be trained individually in all of the major fundamental areas of the game: hitting, 1v1 elimination skills, passing, scoring and defensive skills. The focus of camp is on sport fundamentals, teamwork skills and game play.
Nike Girls’ Volleyball Camp – Girls, Ages 12-18 or 14-18 - All Skills: July 13-July 16; Advanced: July 20-July 23
Campers train in the brand new William M. Anderson Center, home of the Eagle’s volleyball team. This program is open to players of all ability levels, including an All Skills session for ages 12-18 and an Advanced session for ages 14-18. Here you’ll master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain game play experience. Every aspect of the game is covered, giving you a solid skill foundation to build upon after camp.
Girls’ Basketball Camp – Girls, Ages 8-17 - July 16-July 20
Head women’s basketball coach, Deena Applebury, will direct one week of camp in Mary Washington’s new William M. Anderson Center on campus for girls ages 8-17. Campers will be able to improve their individual skills as well as their teamwork skills under the direction of skilled players and coaches.
Eagles High School Soccer Prep Camp – Boys, Grades 9-12 – August 9th
The Eagles High School Prep Camp is open to high school boys who are in grades 9-12. The Prep Camp is designed to give players the opportunity to experience a college training environment as well as get exposure to the University of Mary Washington’s coaching staff and other college coaches who make up the Prep camp staff. We will provide a recruiting session which will cover NCAA rules, regulations, and how to be recruited. These are a few colleges that have worked our camp: Longwood University, Randolph Macon College, Lynchburg College, Hampden-Sydney College, Christopher Newport University, North Carolina Wesleyan College, James Madison University, George Mason University and William & Mary.
Boys Basketball Camp — Boys, Ages 6-17 - July 28-August 1
Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Marcus Kahn, will host Running Eagles Basketball Camp July 28-August 1st. The camp will run from 9-3 each day and will be supervised by UMW coaching staff and players. Battleground Tennis Academy –Boys and Girls, Ages 5-18 - 8 sessions with several dates
Several beginner, intermediate, and advanced tennis camps are offered at the University of Mary Washington for ages 5-7, ages 8-15, and high school students. Campers will play on air conditioned, indoor courts and will work on technique and skills under the head coaches of UMW’s women and men’s tennis teams.
Minecraft Dojo: Coding Education for Young Makers – Ages 9-13 - July 7-July 11
The kidOYO Summer Computer Camp develops programming and physical computer “maker” skills in kids, and is an attempt to join the interests of kids 9-13 with a highly valuable educational path. It is an opportunity for students to engage in a discovery-based experience that will cover a number of interactive technology experiences including: basic game programming, artistic story-telling and musical parody, engineering and science challenges, invention kits and electronic prototype testing, web literacy and publishing knowledge, and personal access to professional toy and game developers who bring a real-world context to student learning.
Summer Enrichment Program – Session 1: June 22-July 3; Session 2: July 6-July 18
This program, designed for advanced middle and high school students, offers a variety of courses, including: Popular Music Analysis, Immunology, Film Studies, Digital Storytelling, Music Production, and SAT Prep. Students will gain both solid academic experience and exposure to campus life, which will instill them with the much-needed motivation that comes along with immersion in a highly respected college learning environment.
