Access and Login to Blackboard 8

1. Open a recommended web browser and navigate to http://blackboard.umw.edu.
2. Click the Login button.
   
3. Enter your Username and Password.
   
   - If you don't have a username (NetID) or password, you can get information about that here.
   - If you have not changed the password that was initially assigned to you, it consists of the last four digits of your social security number, followed by the two digits representing your birth month. (i.e. April = 04). For security reasons we recommend that you change this password as soon as possible.
   - Click the Forgot Password link to receive an email with instructions on how to change your password.
4. Click the Login button to access the Blackboard system. 

If you are experiencing problems logging in:

1. Be sure you have not mistyped your username or password.
2. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive, so make sure your CAPS LOCK is off.
3. If you have any special characters (for example: ! " ' @ # $ % ^ & *) in your username or password, omit them as you login to Blackboard. While these characters work for access to the University network, they don't work for Blackboard.
