Sending Targeted Announcements to the UMW Community
Targeted Groups have been created to allow authorized individuals to send announcements to identified groups within the UMW Community. Currently the data will be as of Banner data on 12/5/06. However, we expect an update mechanism to be in place as the spring semester begins; at that time, the groups will be updated daily, under the current technical plan.
Notes:
- The old Groupwise mailing lists have been removed and no one will be able to send to them any longer.
- No recipients of any of these announcement messages will be able to see the other recipients.
- If a recipient of a message replies to a message, the reply will be sent only to the sender of the message (not to the entire group).
To send a Targeted Message:
- Log into Groupwise; use your usual User ID and Password.
- Create a new message.
- In the To Field, enter the name of the Group(s) that you wish to send the message to. Make sure that you use @umw.edu after the name of the group.

- Enter the content of the message and send it as you normally would..
