Faculty
and Staff: Configuring your on-campus system for the network
MAC OSX
TIP: Before attempting a connection to the UMW Network make sure you have been given a Network User ID and password.
If you are on campus, you will need to assign your computer a specific location on the network in order to connect. To enable this, the Technology Assistance Center will assign you with an IP Address (a unique address for your computer) and a router number (a unique identifier for your building network's connection to the University network). Once you are assigned these numbers, you need to configure your Network Preferences to connect. If you do not have this information, call the Technology Assistance Center at 654-2255 before attempting a connection .
Step 1 - Make sure you are in the "Finder", and go to the
apple
menu,
and select "Location." In the fly-out menu, then select "Network Preferences."
