Technology Proficiency Requirement
The University of Mary Washington had an Information and Technology Proficiency requirement for all incoming degree-seeking students who entered in Fall 2001 through Spring 2006.. The purpose of the requirement was to establish a core set of common foundational experiences with information and technology for students and to ensure that they acquired these experiences early within their academic experience.
Four areas made up the Technology Proficiency Requirement:
- word processing
- spreadsheets
- library and information literacy
