Crestron AudioVisual System Instructions

This classroom AV system uses a touch panel to control the equipment - everything can be done from the small black Crestron touch panel on the desktop.

TO START THE SYSTEM:

Touch the screen on black Crestron box on the lectern’s desktop, to “wake up” the system. Touch the “Touch Here To Start”  button on the touch screen.

2 The projector will always turn on when starting the system, this will take about 60 seconds If audio is not wanted press the “MUTE”  button on the lower left of the screen. Projector will still project an image.

CONTROLLING THE VOLUME:

Volume is controlled from the Touch Panel’s main screen. Using the up and down arrows in the lower left corner of the main screen and the mute button to stop all audio.

TO PROJECT THE COMPUTER IMAGE:

  1. Log into the computer
  2. On the Crestron Touch Screen, touch the “Main PC” button, on the upper left.

TO PROJECT A LAPTOP IMAGE:

Each lectern has a hook-up for laptops either as cables feed through an access hole or through a pop up panel on the desktop

  1. Using the cables: connect the cable to the jack on the back of your laptop.  Connect the Network and audio cables if needed. OR
  2. Pop the panel up by pressing the top firmly. Cables are stored in the lectern.  (Please return these when done)
  3. Turn on your laptop and touch the “Laptop” button on the screen

Troubleshooting Tip: If your image is not being projected, on your laptop, press the blue FN key in combination with the F key that has a blue picture that looks like a monitor. Press and release.  If this doesn’t work, try it once more.

TO PROJECT A DVD:

  1. Press the button on the DVD/VHS Combo Player to open the DVD TRAY.
  2. Place your disk on the tray and press the DVD TRAY button again to close
  3. On the Crestron Touch Screen, touch the “DVD” button.

  1. Use the controls on the touch screen to control your DVD:
    • MENU button – will take you to the DVD’s menu
    • ARROW Buttons – will allow you to move around in the DVD’s menu
    • OK Button – press this to select an item on the DVD’s menu
    • Standard Playback Buttons – allow you to Play, Pause, Stop.
    • PIC MUTE – Sends a Black Screen to the projector
    • 1  RETURN  – takes you back to the main touch screen menu.

TO PROJECT A VHS TAPE:

1. Inside the lectern, load your tape in the VCR

2. On the Crestron Touch Screen, touch the “VCR” button

Note: The cable TV feed comes through the VCR. If this is not desired, change the channels using the red up and down arrows to find “LINE 1” or “LINE 2”. A silent blue screen will display.

3. Use the controls on the touch screen to control your VHS playback:

    • PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, REWIND and FAST FORWARD buttons handle the basics
    • NUMBER and ARROW Buttons – used to change the channel if needed.
    • PIC MUTE – Sends a Black Screen to the projector
    • 2  RETURN  – takes you back to the main touch screen menu.

TO PROJECT CABLE TELEVISION:

  • On the Crestron Touch Screen, touch the “VCR” button
  • Use the red up and down arrows on the VCR controls to scroll through the channels. You may also use the numerical keypad to type in the desired channel.

TO PROJECT DOCUMENT CAMERA IMAGES:

  1. Open the document camera drawer on the left side of the lectern.
  2. Lift the camera head first by pushing the release buttons at the arm base.
  3. Lift the side lights.
  4. On the upper right camera base, turn on the Document Camera.
  5. Place your document or item on the base under the camera.
  6. On the Crestron Touch Screen, touch the “Doc Cam” button.

  1. Use the controls on the touch screen OR the controls on the front of the document camera:
  1. ZOOM buttons – zoom the camera in or out
  2. FOCUS Buttons – adjust the focus of the camera  (Hint:  Adjust Zoom first, then focus)
  3. TOP LIGHTS Button – press to turn on the top lights
  4. BASE LIGHTS Button –  turn on the base light (used for transparencies or 35mm slides)
  5. LIGHTS OFF Button – turn off the lights
  6. AUTO FOCUS Button – zoom in first, then use this button
  7. PIC MUTE – Sends a Black Screen to the projector
  8. 3  RETURN – takes you back to the main touch screen menu.
 

When you are finished:

    1. Using the switch power down the Document Camera
    2. Fold down the lights
    3. Fold down the camera head (use the small release button at the base).
    4. Close the drawer.
