Technology Requirements

Each student who enters the University of Mary Washington must satisfy the Information and Technology Proficiency requirements. This requirement is made up of four areas:

• email,
• word processing,
• spreadsheets, and
• library and information literacy.

Activities include an online survey, electronic quizzes, and manipulation of documents. This requirement is managed through Blackboard (our course management system); students must earn a score of 75 (or higher) on each assignment. Students have about a semester and a half to complete all assignments; students who enter in the fall semester must complete all assignments by March 1, while students who enter in January have a deadline of October 1 for completion of all assignments. Failure to complete the tasks successfully will place a block on a student's registration.
