The University of Mary Washington announces Don Paitrick as the new Director of Tennis at the University of Mary Washington Indoor Tennis Center. 

Don, his wife Elizabeth and their two twin children, Emma and Brett, come to UMW from Eugene, Oregon where he served as Director of Tennis at the Eugene Swim and Tennis Club.

Don brings to UMW, the city of Fredericksburg, and the state of Virginia over 25 years of coaching and playing experience at all levels.  He has directed programs at clubs in Tampa, Florida, Jackson, Mississippi, Westhampton Beach in Long Island, the Hopman / Saddlebrook Tennis Academy and the Bollettieri Academy in Florida.

“It’s been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to coach and train players, junior and adult, at every level.  From ATP and WTA professionals to college, high school and entry level juniors as well as adults from beginner to tournament level, they’ve all had unique and rewarding challenges.  Being a member of the USTA High Performance Coaching Team, it is very important, that at all levels, players have a well constructed map of improvement for success and enjoyment.”

Many of Don’s students have gone on to successful careers at the professional, college and adult USA Team levels.  Florida State, Wisconsin, Ferris State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Baylor, Oregon and Vanderbilt are some of the colleges of former students.

Don has also served as a Tournament Director for the USTA Women’s $50,000 Pro Circuit Championships, the Boys/Girls Southern 16’s Open Championships, numerous junior Challenger and Champ level tournaments and USTA Adult Tournament and League Championships.  He has also directed successful celebrity weekends with Nick Bollettieri, Luke Jensen and ESPN sportscaster and writer Dick Schaap on ABC TV.
