An error value (#####) occurs when cell contents are wider than a cell or when the cell contains a date and / or time formula that produces a negative result.
To resize a column:

- Place the mouse on the right edge of the column heading. (For example, if you want to widen column B, place your mouse on the right edge of the B.) The cursor changes into a vertical line with arrows pointing to the left and right.

- Drag that border to the right to make the column wider or to the left to make it narrower.

EXCEL EXTRAS
- Double-clicking on the right border of the column header makes the column fit the contents; this is called AutoFit.
- You can highlight multiple columns and resize them all at the same time.
- The same techniques work when changing the height of rows.
