Using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007: Introduction
Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 is the presentation program included in the Microsoft Office suite. It is commonly used as a replacement for overhead or 35mm slide presentations. PowerPoint slides can be changed at the last minute before presenting to your audience. A classroom with a computer and LCD projector are necessary to do a PowerPoint presentation.
For seasoned user of PowerPoint, the new PowerPoint 2007 will appear dramatically different at first. The most notable difference is at the top of the PowerPoint 2007 screen. This is called The Ribbon and it replaces the menus and toolbars you saw in earlier versions. The Ribbon is a control center composed of Tabs and Groups of commands that will make your job of creating presentations faster, smarter, and the look much more professional. We will look at the Ribbon in detail in the Getting Started section.
The tutorial has been divided into 9 sections; a "Getting Started" section is followed by 8 instructional sections covering a number of related skills. The menu on the right lists all of the sections as well as the corresponding skills.
You may wish to progress through the sections sequentially or focus on particular skills you are interested in learning more about.
